What did we get ourselves into this time?
Hey there! First of all, I hope you're well and reading this from somewhere safe and comfortable. I know these days can be tough especially with the uncertainty that comes with it. But I guess, at least for us, we've learned to live with it and make the most of the current situation. We've made it a habit to actively look for silver linings in life.
I’m writing this while our kids have taken over the living room—toys strewn all over the floor and I can barely see the tiles beneath. And while it can be stressful to do anything that requires focus and attention while chaos ensues (thank God for noise-cancelling headphones), I still feel very fortunate that the only thing I’m worrying about is my wife Nouelle seeing the mess and losing her marbles.
Nouelle and I, on days when we didn't spend the previous night binging on some series we've somehow gotten ourselves addicted to, start our mornings by talking about random thoughts our brains were able to process overnight. Right after reading our devotions while sipping the mandatory morning coffee, it's usually a peaceful exchange between the two of us.. right up to the moment our two kids—RyRy and Miggy—wake up and start getting into the mix.
"I think I want to make a vlog," Nouelle shared one morning. That's all it took and the very next day she had a professionally-made vlog entry for Mothers' Day making carrot cake (and cupcakes) with the kids.
Another morning, "we should make a podcast" made it into the conversation and off we went thinking of and listing down topics we should talk about in audio format.
Writing has always been there. Nouelle wrote for the school's paper back in college where we both met. I, myself, am an avid reader and I try to put my thoughts in writing when I’m able to find the time.
And so we decided one day, without much deliberation and prodding, that we were going to start this platform—a platform to share our stories in a variety of mediums. And so, Life with Kids was born.
In this platform, we hope not only to share our stories but we also look to hear from other people and theirs. We hope that by encouraging interaction and the exchanging of ideas, we will all come out better equipped with insights from those who’ve already managed to figure things out.
If you've read this far, we’d like to thank you. We look forward to you having you with us in our adventures (often misadventures) going through life and everything else that goes with it.
